Hire Resolve's client is seeking a Senior IT and Security Support Technician that will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of their clients' and their own IT infrastructure. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual who can provide advanced technical support, implement security best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our IT services. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong understanding of various IT systems and security protocols.Responsibilities:
- Advanced IT Support:
- Provide expert-level technical support for a wide range of IT systems, including servers, networks, and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Manage and maintain SQL, Linux, PostgreSQL, VMware, Hyper-V, and Microsoft environments.
- Provide support for Pastel & VIP, Microsoft SharePoint, and HCL Domino.
- Assist with Veeam implementations and servicing.
- Network and Infrastructure Management:
- Implement and maintain networking solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Manage and support server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
- Implement and manage cloud solutions, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and hosted backup solutions.
- Manage and support hosted 3CX solutions.
- Manage website and domain hosting.
- Support and maintain the "VADER Cloud" and "VADER Network" services.
- Security Management:
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect IT assets.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and best practices.
- System Administration:
- Perform system administration tasks, including user management, system updates, and backups.
- Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Document IT processes and procedures.
- Client Communication and Support:
- Provide excellent customer service and technical support to clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Provide IT advisory and management services to clients.
- Project Participation:
- Participate in IT projects, including implementations and upgrades.
- Assist in the development of specialised software and IT solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Senior IT Support Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Linux, PostgreSQL, VMware, Hyper-V, and Microsoft environments.
- Experience with network infrastructure management and security.
- Familiarity with cloud solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Experience with Veeam, Pastel & VIP, Microsoft SharePoint, and HCL Domino is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Linux+) are a plus.
- Experience with 3CX phone systems is a plus.
