Main Responsibilities:Serve as the Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert for the refinery. Ensure compliance with Electrical Safe Work Practices and company technical standards. Design and review electrical systems, including LV/MV distribution, protection systems, motors, lighting, transformers, UPS, switchgear, and more. Support Capital Projects, including constructability reviews, commissioning, and managing electrical installations. Manage deviations, resolve technical issues, and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with vendors. Provide technical support for plant reliability, maintenance, and investigations. Mentor graduates and interns, ensuring safety and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Collaborate with local authorities, Eskom and support the MOC process. Qualifications:
BSc Eng (Elec) or BEng (Elec). At least 8+ years working experience in the Projects and Engineering environment for Refinery / Terminals or Oil and Gas Facilities, with strong site experience. Strong knowledge of SANS 10142, IEC, EX Standards, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Experience in electrical installations for hazardous areas and plant machinery safety. Preferred Experience:
Professional registration with ECSA. Government Certificate of Competency (GCC). Experience with electrical network design, specification, procurement, testing, and commissioning. Strong fault finding and root cause analysis skills.
