Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Head Chef to lead the culinary team at their prestigious Game Lodge. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for lodge guests, ensuring exceptional dining experiences. You will manage kitchen operations, create seasonal menus, source local ingredients, and maintain a safe and efficient working environment. The Head Chef will also work closely with the lodge management to enhance guest satisfaction through creative culinary offerings. Key Responsibilities:- Plan and execute seasonal menus with a focus on local, fresh ingredients.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high culinary standards.
- Ensure food preparation, storage, and cleanliness adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Coordinate with lodge management for special events, group bookings, and customized guest experiences.
- Monitor food costs and control wastage.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented kitchen atmosphere.
- Oversee food presentation and ensure it aligns with the lodge's brand and standards.
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a luxury lodge or similar hospitality setting.
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and menu planning.
- Ability to manage, motivate, and inspire a kitchen team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver consistently exceptional results.
- A culinary diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictions.
- A passion for sustainable and locally sourced ingredients.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Previous experience in remote or safari lodge settings is an advantage.
