Stock Control Team Leader
This leading South African book publisher and distributor requires the services of a Stock Control Team Leader who will be responsible for overseeing the stock control processes and managing a team to maintain inventory accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with various departments, including Customer Services and Sales to ensure, accuracy of Inventory, smooth stock movements and the timely fulfilment of orders.
Job Responsibilities :
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of stock control staff, ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee stock replenishment, stock audits, and stock movement across the warehouse.
- Ensure all stock-related records are kept up-to-date, accurate, and easily accessible.
- Manage stock discrepancies, perform investigations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and overstocking, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
- Work closely with the purchasing and operations teams to forecast stock needs and manage stock flow.
- Develop and implement stock control processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Adherence to compliance, SOP’s and company policies
- Daily/ Weekly/ Monthly Management Reports
Requirements and Skills
- Matric certificate (Minimum requirement). Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management (BCom Supply Chain Preferred)
- 3-5 Years experience in a stock control or inventory role.
- Previous experience leading or managing a team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Administrative Skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to resolve stock discrepancies effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using stock management software and Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
