Description:
Minimum Requirements:· Technical diploma or vocational training in diesel mechanics
· Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic
· Drivers license
· Minimum 4 years experience in diesel engine maintenance and hydraulic equipment and machinery
Skills & Competencies:
Good hand-eye coordination to handle tools, assemble and disassemble parts and systems
· Ability to problem solve and identify the root cause
· Math skills, including but not limited to reading ofmeasurements
· Knowledge and skills in using diagnostic equipment
· Good interpersonal skills
· Team Player
· Able to work under pressure
· Pro-Active
Responsibilities:
- Conduct service, repair, and routine oil changes to full engine rebuilds of equipment.
- Under the supervision of the Head Mechanic, responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of heavy equipment,
- Repairs and adjustments of diesel power unit.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes.
- Identify nature and causes of defects or malfunctions in equipment or other parts of system using diagnostic
- machines and consulting with operating manuals
- Overhaul and repair components.
- Assemble and disassemble parts and systems.
- Clean and lubricate parts.
- Record condition of equipment, including malfunctions observed, and repairs.
- Record keeping to accurately log inspections, equipment conditions and repairs or replacement.
- Keep work areas clean in order to readily find tools or parts and ensure deadlines are met.
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to vehicle users.
- Disassemble damaged and broken equipment so that it can be more easily repaired, then reassemble pieces
- after repair work has been successfully completed.
- Maintain grounds and common areas to ensure they are operational, safe and clean for our guests.
- Receive deliveries of tools, equipment and supplies and transfer them to work-stations or other areas as directed
- by management.
- Hold or hand off tools, equipment and parts to employees who are actively working on maintenance or repairs.
- Examine machinery to ensure that it is functioning properly and to check for defects in components or parts.
