Minimum requirements:
National Diploma in Business Management, Facilities Management, Project Management, or a related field Additional certifications in Health & Safety (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Samtrac) are advantageous Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in operations management, facilities management, or project management within the commercial, retail, or student accommodation sectors Experience managing Building Management Systems (BMS) in commercial properties would be advantageous Proficient in MS Office Suite and property management software (e.g. MDA, MRI) Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and background in facilities upgrades related to energy efficiency and sustainability Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the property, ensuring all facilities are in optimal condition Schedule and supervise maintenance and repair work, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural aspects Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues proactively Ensure lease agreements and building regulations are adhered to Facilitate lease renewals, move-ins, and move-outs in coordination with property management Assist in the preparation and management of property budgets Monitor expenses and control costs while ensuring the building remains well-maintained Manage service contracts for cleaning, security, landscaping, and maintenance providers Oversee performance and ensure service providers meet contractual obligations Ensure the building complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures
