Description:
Minimum requirements:Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Payroll certification (e.g., Sage VIP, Pastel Payroll, or equivalent) advantageous Minimum 3-5 years of payroll experience Experience in security and/or construction industry will be an advantage Basic knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices. Experience working with payroll and accounting software Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll for permanent, contract, and casual employees on a monthly/weekly basis Ensure accurate capturing of employee earnings, deductions and overtime Prepare and submit statutory payments such as PAYE, UIF, SDL, and pension contributions Maintain payroll records and generate payroll reports Reconcile payroll with the general ledger and bank statements Handle payroll queries and provide employee payslip explanations Ensure compliance with labour laws, tax regulations, and company policies Assist in payroll audits and month-end reporting Assist in preparing project cost estimates and budgets Track labour costs, overtime, and other direct costs on security, tenders and construction projects Reconcile actual project costs with budgeted amounts Allocate payroll costs to relevant projects and cost centres Provide detailed cost reports for management review Support month-end and year-end closing processes
