Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management and contractual aspects of a large-scale civil engineering project. The role involves managing the construction of a state-of-the-art warehousing system in the agricultural industry.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets and expenditures. Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies, and financial appraisals. Conduct risk analysis and value engineering to optimize costs while maintaining quality. Manage tendering and procurement processes for contractors and suppliers. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with industry standards. Administer standard contract forms such as FIDIC and NEC. Handle contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution. Oversee cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with budgets and timelines. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to align costs with project objectives. Prepare detailed financial and project reports for senior management. Maintain documentation of all project-related costs, contracts, and claims. Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Lead and mentor a team of junior quantity surveyors and cost controllers. Provide expert advice on cost management strategies. Liaise with external consultants, government agencies, and industry bodies.Key Skills
Strong knowledge of contract law, cost management, procurement, and tendering processes. Excellent negotiation, report-writing, and presentation skills. Proficiency in QS software and Microsoft Excel. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
