Have you completed and managed solar projects in and around Africa and acquiring a new project that will be managed over the next 24 months? Our client based in Cape Town requires a highly skilled and dynamic Project Manager to join their team, overseeing the execution of current and future Wind and Solar Projects within our renewable energy portfolio. This role will primarily focus on the Overberg Wind Project, the role spans the entire project lifecycle, from the transaction phase (pre-financial close) to the execution phase, including detailed design, construction, commissioning, and final project handover. - SACPCMP preferable Minimum Previous Experience
- Previous experience in Renewable Energy
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills - able to be self-directed and deliver on deadlines
- Excellent project management as well as interpersonal and organisational skills
- Positive attitude and highly responsive
- Able to build internal and external relationships and network
- Writing ability, strong communications background and ability to draft content (not just edit and proof-read)
- Creative thinker Languages
DUTIES
- Remain abreast with market and technological developments
- Foster and lead a corporate culture that promotes sustainable ethical practices
- Recommending policy and procedure improvements
- Ensuring overall compliance to all the internal Policies and Procedures of the Company, including compliance with Corporate ESMS (Environmental, Social, Management System), IFC Standards and Equator Principles
- Responsible for compiling and maintaining the PDPs (Project Development Plans) with relevant reporting and raising of critical tasks to the Transactions team and other team members in a collaborative manner
- Tracking and supporting all teams with the Technical Due Diligence as well as interactions with other DDs (Due Diligences) such as the Legal and Insurance DDs etc. as required to reach Financial Closure.
- Manage the O&M Contracts.
- Support the Asset Management team, when required, on other signed agreements (i.e.:
- Manage and monitor compliance of the Economic Development obligations and commitments under the Implementation Agreement.
- Direct internal operations to achieve project budgeted results and related financial criteria, and to preserve the capital funds invested in the project
- Ensure that all the relevant insurances, permits and contracts remain in full force during the construction of the facility.
- Be fully informed with the land lease agreement signed by the Associated Company and monitor and manage the compliance of the contractors therewith
- Attend, or conduct, periodic construction progress meetings with all contractors and consultants
- Managing interfacing and planning between the different contractors.
- Issue Internal Reports to the Company as well as a Monthly Report to the relevant stakeholders by highlighting progress, risks and opportunities and any other main information pertinent to the project
- Review and assess if each of the contract milestones have been achieved and prepare and issue the relevant certificate duly signed.
