Our client, an already established company in heavy industrial manufacturing industry in Durban, is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Planner, who will be reporting to the Maintenance Leader, to join their team. Minimum Qualifications:
- Trade Tested (Mechanical Fitter, Millwright, or Electrical Trade Test (Red Seal only))
- Matric with Equivalent Tertiary Qualification
Minimum Experience:
- Maintenance experience in a heavy industry environment.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling using SAP maintenance system.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare job packages and input plans into SAP, detailing required resources, materials, and services.
- Identify task activities necessary to execute job plans.
- Determine materials, tools, and equipment required for tasks.
- Gather safety information and requirements for safe task execution.
- Consider material costs when selecting from specifications.
- Review work orders for technical completeness and return incomplete orders.
- Conduct field checks when needed and archive repetitive job plans.
- Identify resource requirements for scheduled jobs using job plans.
- Record tasks and relevant information within the work order system.
- Set net capacity for crafts based on turnaround schedules and available labor.
- Build the weekly schedule for optimal resource use and issue the schedule accordingly.
- Monitor and review performance measures.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
