Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Line Haul Driver to transport goods efficiently and safely between designated locations. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license (Code 10) and a valid PdP, a strong understanding of road safety regulations, and experience with long-haul driving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate vehicles to transport freight between hubs and distribution centres.
- Ensure timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining compliance with all transportation laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Secure load properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, and load details using electronic logging devices.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations to ensure safe operation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and report any delays, mechanical issues, or accidents promptly.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on the vehicle as needed.
- Follow company policies and procedures for handling freight and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Driver’s License (Code 10)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in long-haul or regional driving.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to operate GPS and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift and secure freight as needed.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with trailers.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic truck troubleshooting.
- Previous experience working in logistics or freight transportation.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Long-distance driving with potential overnight stays.
- Work shifts may include weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Exposure to various weather conditions and road environments.
