Unit Manager

Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Unit Manager. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, ensuring the unit runs efficiently while meeting operational goals and maintaining high standards of service. Key Performance Indicators:

• Provide effective management and professional leadership by ensuring that the unit is organized to promote quality health care
• Ensure training and implementation of department policies
• Ensure monitoring and evaluation of care and management of all patients, and the maintenance of accurate and complete patient care
• Participate in the analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing policies and procedures
• Supervise the implementation of health care delivery framework (including operational and risk plan)
• Ensure implementation, adherence, monitoring and evaluation of the norms and standards in the unit and facility
• Evaluate patient care programs and make proposals for improvement
• Ensure efficient data flow and information management
• Ensure reporting of and mitigation of Patient Safety Incident (PSI)
• Ensure effective implementation of Infection, Prevention and Control (IPC) practices
• Monitor absenteeism, and exercise control over discipline, grievance, and labour issues in the unit
• Formulate, participate, monitor and evaluate the efficacy of ward in-service training programs
• Maintain constructive working relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT)
• Monitor/ manage proper utilization of human and material resources in the unit
• Ensure timeous collection and submission of data and reports
• Be available to participate in peer review audits
• Ensure proper assessment of patient's acuity levels to maximize staff utilization
• Work in collaboration with nursing services for effective bed management
• Ensure effective communication via your channels of communication to encourage discussion of all levels in the facility
• Ensure constructive input and active participation in committees which you are appointed to

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field
• Previous experience in the specific industry (e.g. healthcare, retail, Hospitality)
• Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably within the relevant industry
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices
