Key Responsibilities:Welding Inspection & Testing
Perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) to assess weld integrity and compliance with ASME, AWS, API, ISO, and project specifications.
Identify and report welding defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercuts, recommending corrective actions as needed.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, including weld maps, visual inspection records, and test results.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and aligned with client and regulatory requirements.
Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder qualifications.
NDT Methods & Quality Control
Conduct inspections using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT).
Oversee welding activities on-site or in the workshop, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Verify that welding teams follow approved welding procedures and industry codes.
Training & Support
Assess and verify welder qualifications through visual inspections and test witnessing.
Provide training and mentorship to junior inspectors, welders, and fabrication personnel on welding standards and best practices.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues.
Requirements:
Requirements:Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent Level 2/3 qualification.
Proven experience in welding inspection, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of NDT methods and industry codes (ASME, AWS, API, ISO).
Proficiency in inspection reporting and documentation.
Ability to identify welding defects and recommend corrective measures.
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
