Job Description:

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our client's team in Cape Town. This role will involve working on a variety of exciting projects, including modifications to existing factories, as well as greenfield and renewable energy projects. The scope of our project execution ranges from pure design to full EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) delivery.

As a Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems and instrumentation for these diverse industrial projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of plant equipment and systems, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain control systems and instrumentation for industrial processes across a variety of projects, including existing factory modifications, greenfield developments, and renewable energy installations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems, instrumentation, and automation.
• Provide technical support during the full project lifecycle, including design, installation, commissioning, and operation of control and instrumentation systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize project performance and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Conduct system audits, ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including control system drawings, manuals, and operational procedures.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
• Participate in the procurement of control and instrumentation equipment and services, ensuring that specifications are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering (or related field).
• At least 5-8 years of experience in control and instrumentation engineering, with expertise in industrial automation.
• Proficiency in control system software, PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.
• Experience working on modifications to existing factories, as well as greenfield and renewable energy projects.
• Strong understanding of project execution, from design through to EPC delivery.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISO) and safety regulations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
