About the role:They should be able to use design software and techniques to create drafts and prototypes, work with team members to pitch creative ideas and will collaborate closely with a Senior Designer and Production Manager, to produce work of the highest quality. Candidate should be interested in learning on how our large format printing machines work in order for them to be able to effectively transfer design concepts onto the printing formats of the machines. In this role, creativity and meticulous attention to detail will be crucial.
Responsibilities:
A complete qualification in Graphic Design. Ability to apply the basic principles of design. Use various design techniques to create drafts, models and prototypes. Produce final design solutions in print format. Pitch creative ideas to help grow the company. Collaborate with team members to launch projects effectively. Take on special design tasks (colour correction/matching; ink changes). Use constructive feedback from other designers to improve. Understand project requirements and concepts. Make sure the work to be printed matches their design layout. Requirements:
South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34. Must not have participated on the YES programme before. Knowledge of various design softwares (e.g. InVision, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Photoshop) and graphics editing tools (e.g. Photoshop, CorelDRAW) Familiarity with the different design techniques (e.g. prototyping) Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts) Teamwork and be proactive A keen eye for detail and spellcheck capabilities Time management and multitasking abilities Creativity skills and problem-solving aptitude Portfolio of work will be an advantage Please consider your application unsuccessful when you have not heard from the Signa Opportunity team within two weeks of submitting your application.
