Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Employment Type: Contract (Less than 6 months)
Job Location: Cape Town
Responsibilities:
Planning: Creating a project plan, identifying goals, setting timelines, budgeting, and resource allocation. Coordinating: Working with contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone is on the same page and the project is progressing as planned. Overseeing: Supervising workers, managing materials and equipment, overseeing safety standards, and ensuring quality control. Problem-solving: Identifying and addressing issues that arise during the construction process, such as design changes or unexpected delays. Communication: Providing regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and team members on the progress of the project. Compliance: Ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are met, such as permit applications and building codes. Project Close-Out: Finalizing all necessary project documentation, resolving any issues, and conducting a thorough project evaluation.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Project Manager or similar role in the construction industry. In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, tools, and equipment. Good understanding of safety protocols and regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, plans, and drawings. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a project manager in the construction industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders. Project management certification, such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while staying organized and detail-oriented. Understanding of construction codes and regulations. Ability to develop budgets, timelines, and project plans. Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when needed. Valid driver's license and own transport.
Experience and Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Project management certification, such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile.
