Description:
As an EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. This includes ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical and automation systems across a range of sectors. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and take a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, commissioning, and improving systems in both the field and office environment.Key Responsibilities:
Design and specify electrical, control, and instrumentation systems for new and existing projects. Provide technical expertise and support during the commissioning, installation, and testing phases of projects. Conduct detailed analysis of control and instrumentation systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization. Ensure systems meet all safety, regulatory, and industry standards. Develop electrical schematics, control diagrams, and instrumentation specifications. Perform fault diagnosis and troubleshooting for electrical and control systems. Lead and supervise the installation and commissioning of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems on-site. Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure timely project delivery, within budget and to specifications. Prepare documentation, reports, and technical manuals. Ensure compliance with quality standards, health & safety, and environmental regulations. Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and operators.Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. experience in electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering within industrial or commercial sectors. Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and electrical design principles. Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation technologies. Proficiency in electrical design software and control systems (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, MATLAB, or similar). Familiarity with electrical standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE) and control/instrumentation standards. Hands-on experience with commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work within multidisciplinary teams.This position is based in Nelspruit
