Minimum requirements:Qualified Mechanic (advantage) or Certification in vehicle repair and maintenance (e.g. ASE, City & Guilds) 2+ years of experience as a mechanic working on petrol and diesel vehicles. Experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models. Strong knowledge of engine repair, maintenance, and diagnostics. Experience with suspension systems and diagnostic equipment. Valid driver's license. Sober habits. Clear criminal record. Knowledge of computer-aided diagnostic systems. Familiarity with workshop management software. Personality Traits:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic workshop environment. Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or in extreme temperatures. Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects (up to 50 kg). Duties and responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair faults on petrol and diesel engines. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake pad replacements. Work on suspension systems, including shock absorbers, struts, and springs. Use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot problems. Conduct safety inspections and report any defects or issues. Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used. Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to share knowledge and best practices. Stay up to date with the latest technologies and techniques in vehicle repair and maintenance.
