Minimum requirements:
7+ years in a senior management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proven track record in business turnaround strategies and operational restructuring. Strong financial acumen ability to manage budgets, cost control, and financial planning. Extensive experience in the plastic injection moulding and/or metal pressing industries. Expertise in industrial relations and trade union negotiations. Ability to function independently, take ownership, and make tough business decisions. Strong business development skills, with a network in manufacturing and industrial sectors.1. Business Turnaround & Growth Strategy:
Take full P&L responsibility and drive cost control, revenue growth, and profitability. Execute a defined turnaround strategy with clear targets to restore the business to R250M+ revenue within three years. Identify new business opportunities and drive diversification initiatives. Establish the toolroom as a profit center serving external clients beyond in-house production.2. Operational & Financial Management:
Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality compliance. Implement lean manufacturing principles to maximize plant utilization (target 75% within 3 years). Develop and execute pricing strategies to maintain cost recovery, operating margins, and profitability. Drive investment and funding proposals, working with Jasco HQ and external funding bodies.3. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
Develop and nurture client relationships, securing long-term contracts and business growth. Represent the company at an EXCO level, engaging with clients and Jasco executive leadership. Build strategic partnerships within the plastic injection moulding and metal pressing industry.4. Team Leadership & Organisational Culture:
Build and lead a high-performance management team, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Foster a strong industrial relations environment, including engagement with trade unions. Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and innovation across all departments. Encourage team buy-in to the turnaround strategy, ensuring sustainable business growth.
