Chief Risk Officer (CRO)Key Responsibilities:
Risk Strategy & Framework: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Credit Risk Oversight: Lead the banks credit risk policies, underwriting standards, and portfolio risk management, ensuring sound credit decision-making and risk mitigation. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local and international banking regulations, including Basel frameworks and IFRS standards. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Oversee all risk domains, including credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk, integrating them into the banks risk appetite framework. Risk Analytics & Reporting: Leverage data-driven insights to monitor risk exposure, develop risk mitigation strategies, and provide comprehensive reports to senior management and regulators. Stakeholder Management: Engage with regulators, auditors, board committees, and executive leadership on risk-related matters, ensuring proactive risk governance. Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing risk management team, fostering a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field (Masters preferred). Professional certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA, CPA) is an added advantage. 10+ years of experience in banking risk management, with at least 5 years specializing in credit risk at a senior level. In-depth knowledge of credit risk modeling, stress testing, IFRS 9, and capital adequacy frameworks. Strong experience with banking regulations, loan portfolio management, and credit risk mitigation techniques. Excellent leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
