Our client is looking for a Head Sales Manager to develop and execute sales strategies, manage customer relationships, and drive business growth within the agricultural sector. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive experience in agricultural sales, and the ability to manage diverse teams and market segments.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement sales strategies, growth plans, and targets for the small-scale agricultural sector. Manage customer relationships to understand business needs and provide customized agronomy solutions. Lead divisional sales teams to achieve sales targets and ensure alignment with company objectives. Oversee sales budgeting, forecasting, and expense management. Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies to maintain market competitiveness. Develop and manage a strong distribution network for agricultural inputs, including seeds, fertilizers, chemicals, and irrigation systems. Ensure effective market segmentation and communicate value propositions to customers. Manage supplier relationships and negotiate long-term product supply agreements. Oversee procurement, logistics, operations, and compliance related to sales activities. Lead and mentor a team including department managers, area sales managers, agronomists, and field promoters. Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements. Conduct market intelligence research to identify new product and market opportunities. Manage accounts receivables and debtors to optimize financial performance.Key Skills
Strong leadership and people management abilities. Extensive experience in agricultural sales, particularly small-scale distribution networks. Deep understanding of customer needs, market structure, and business drivers. Knowledge of crop protection, seeds, greenhouses, and irrigation systems. Excellent sales management and strategic planning skills.
