Buyer and Sourcing Specialist
Location: Melrose, Johannesburg
(6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
A leading procurement team is seeking a highly motivated Buyer and Sourcing Specialist to manage the sourcing process and ensure procurement compliance across multiple African sites (DRC and South Africa). This role focuses on supplier negotiations, purchase order management, and driving procurement efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Supplier Management - Lead sourcing initiatives for goods and services, ensuring cost-effective and reliable procurement solutions.
Supplier Negotiations - Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to secure the best value while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Purchase Order Management - Create and oversee purchase orders within Coupa , ensuring accuracy and compliance with procurement policies.
Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure all procurement activities align with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.
Supplier Performance Monitoring - Track supplier performance, resolve issues, and manage risks to enhance quality and service delivery.
Collaboration & Process Improvement - Work cross-functionally to improve procurement strategies and drive efficiencies, particularly within Coupa .
Required Skills
- CIPS certification (or equivalent procurement qualification)
- 3+ years' experience as a Buyer or Sourcing Specialist, focusing on procurement and supplier management
- Proficiency in Coupa, SAP, and ServiceNow
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Experience in procurement across multi-location operations in Africa
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
