POSITION OVERVIEW

The Logistics and Distribution Manager will be responsible for the receiving and dispatching functions including transport and yard management. The manager will effectively run the day-to-day operations ensuring total compliance to receiving and dispatching protocols and operational KPIs.

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

REQUIREMENTS

Relevant tertiary qualification. 5 years Management experience in an operational or similar role. Solid understanding of total quality management systems and processes. People and process leadership. Strong Computer Literacy. Able to work in high pressure and fast-paced environment, while still meeting required deadlines successfully. Strong communication skills. Problem-solving capabilities. Analytical thinking Ability to proactively plan and execute accordingly Strong leadership and management skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

RECEIVING

o Manage and control the receiving of goods and products into the facility.

STOCK MANAGEMENT

o Ensure efficient stock and material management, including storing and handling cooling pallets according to SOPs.

PALLET HANDLING & STORAGE

o Ensure pallet capture and storage/handling process is followed. o Cold and ambient pallets are stored in the correct locations and are in line with SOPs.

o Pallet movement information is recorded in accordance with SOPs.

o Operational control and management of the Cold and Ambient Storage areas.

EQUIPMENT

o Ensure Forklift charging and maintenance is conducted including load testing and diesel.

o Ensure that generator servicing and maintenance are done as required and that diesel is always filled.

o Conduct facility electricity readings and keep records of meters.

DISPATCH

o Manage and control the picking and dispatching of all goods out of the facility.

o Ensure all goods picked and dispatched are done according to the prescribed process.

o Responsible for ensuring load outs and turnaround times are adhered to.

o Ensure customer queries are resolved within 24 hours of delivery.

LOGISTICS

o Manage inbound and outbound logistics aligned with budget, SLAs, and slot times.

o Manage, plan, and control the daily logistics for all related parties business.
