Are you a strategic procurement leader looking for a career-defining opportunity in the insurance and investment sector? Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to drive procurement excellence, optimize supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective procurement strategies that align with business objectives. This role requires a commercially astute professional with deep expertise in procurement governance, contract management, and supplier risk mitigation within a regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with corporate objectives, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee end-to-end procurement processes , including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance management.
  • Drive supplier relationship management , ensuring long-term strategic partnerships that enhance service delivery and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and procurement best practices within the insurance and investment industry.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team , fostering a high-performance culture with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders , including finance, legal, and risk teams, to align procurement initiatives with broader business goals.
  • Optimize procurement policies and governance frameworks , ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal controls.
  • Manage procurement budgets and cost-saving initiatives , identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies and value creation.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance procurement decision-making and supplier evaluation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification (CIPS, MCIPS, or MBA) is highly advantageous.
  • 8-10 years of procurement experience , with at least 5 years in a senior/leadership role.
  • Industry experience in financial services, insurance, or investment is essential.
  • Strong understanding of procurement regulations , governance frameworks, and compliance within the financial sector.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation .
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and data analytics tools.
