My client, based in Paarl is a well established company that exports fruit. They are seeking to employ a Commercial Manager: South East Asian Markets. The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification and min 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role and knowledge of South East Asian Markets is essential. Requirements:- Relevant tertiary Degree / Diploma
- Min 3 - 5 years experience in a Commercial role
- Must have knowledge of South East Asian markets
- Fully bilingual
- Good communication skills and can work well under pressure
Pre-season planning
- Discuss the seasonal forecast per fruit type with the respective fruit teams.
- Based on the seasonal forecast, compile a demand plan for each market where possible
- Meet with customers to discuss previous season, areas of improvement
- Credit risk assessment based on previous season performance per receiver
- Discuss and agree maximum net credit risk and internal credit limits per receiver with Head of department, FD and MD
- Update trading terms per receiver and get approval (signature) from receivers
- Stock management and getting pro-active orders as early as possible
- Daily allocation of pallets per receiver and cold store by means of vessel planning
- Forecast container needs a week in advance
- Give vessel and transport bookings to Logistics department by 11h00
- Discuss and confirm proposed loadings with customers
- Book container loadings per vessel, receiver, port, carton quantities and cold store by weekly shipping instructions cut-off time
- Discuss current pack week with customers
- Price level management by interacting with all trading desks
- Receiving and processing of account sales
- Finalize sales and receipt confirm containers for pooling purposes, to the prescribed deadlines
- Debtors management
- Credit exposure management
- Relationship management of producers and customers
- Compile end of season figures per customer
- End of season discussions with customers
