Our client, a leading engineering consulting firm, is entering an exciting new phase of growth and innovation. To maintain their competitive edge, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive operational and commercial excellence within their organization.Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Technical Leadership
- Lead electrical design projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee and guide junior engineers and technicians on technical aspects.
- Provide design leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Ensure quality coordination of MEP services with internal disciplines.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants, project managers, architects, QS teams, clients, and government bodies.
- Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide engineering solutions.
Financial & Business Performance
- Compile project budgets and financial reports.
- Develop cost estimates and tender documentation.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation and cost control.
Supervision & Construction Management
- Attend site progress meetings and supervise project implementation.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Oversee project handovers and quality assurance processes.
Design & Due Diligence
- Perform electrical designs for LV and MV (11kV) reticulation, lighting, small power, and backup power solutions.
- Conduct site investigations and due diligence reports on electrical services.
- Evaluate existing systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
Internal Operations & Team Development
- Allocate and manage engineering staff across projects.
- Establish and maintain standard design documentation and specifications.
- Provide training and mentorship for staff development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or B-Tech in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering preferred.
- Professional Registration: Registration as a Professional Engineer, Technologist, or Technician is advantageous.
- Certifications: Qualification in Green Building Design and Revit MEP competency is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in electrical design, including:
- LV and MV (11kV) reticulation
- Lighting and small power systems
- Backup power solutions
- Volt drop and fault level calculations
- Project budgeting and tender documentation
- Site supervision and quality control
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design software is beneficial.
- Additional Skills: Data Center Design and a Management Diploma are advantageous.
