Job Profile: Area Sales Development Manager/Specialist/Exec

Position Overview :

This position is a key position within the business as it will be responsible for growing sales and the development of the retail sales teams within the geographic area of responsibility allocated to this position. This encompasses sales planning, forecasting , lead generation, customer prospecting, sales force recruitment, training & development, visual merchandising standards maintenance, performance management, product & industry expertise, customer service leadership, performance reporting and precision execution of the set out out plans.

The positions responsibility will span across direct as well as third party retail and business to business sales development. The position will require a seasoned expert in sales and sales team development, who is meticulous and passionate about developing highly focussed and goal orientated achievers. It will require someone with excellent communication skills, articulate in their planning and execution with a burning hunger for meeting the set out goals.

KPA’s:

  • Development of the sales consultants selling and customer service competency skills
  • Motivate and build success orientated sales forces in the within region
  • Drive sales performance against the set-out sales and business objectives
  • Measure performance and identify areas of improvement & development within the sales teams
  • Conduct performance management and take corrective measures to maintain alignment to the business sales objectives
  • Ensure adequate sales force resource recruitment and deployment to cater for the business objectives
  • Ensure the retail sales environment is maintained at the required business standards
  • Ensure product and floor merchandising is executed to plan and maintained at the required levels
  • Provide regular feedback and reporting on performance tracking and the retail implementation standards
  • Develop and nurture sound lead pipelines within the respective sales teams
  • Implement lead generating plans and activities
  • Ensure sales consultants visual appearance, communication skills, customer follow up and administration standards are maintained at the business requirement levels
  • Manage after sales satisfaction standards and professionally handle customers queries
  • Nurture relations with 3 rd party retailers, through ongoing sites visits, regular communication and efficient query resolution
  • Identify opportunity areas for further business development within the region
  • Ensure sales consultants proficiency using the POS, lead and CRM systems
  • Conduct and coordinate regular & ongoing training sessions to build product knowledge, industry education, sales techniques and systems efficiency amongst the sales team
  • Monitor sales forces use of the training tools and materials provides
  • Prepare and present performance reports
  • Identify areas of development. Put together personal development plans for the sales force.

Person Profile:

  • Seasned sales professional with a proven track record of achieving personal and team sales goals. Min 5-8 years of sales & sales leadership experience
  • Highly goals orientated
  • Highly energetic
  • Passion for people development
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Extroverted and with sound networking skills
  • Well organised and articulate with a proven ability to implement and execute plans
  • Team player who can translate company objectives to all levels of the sales team
  • Lead by example person, who can generate results in order to demand results
  • Has a great retail head on their shoulders

Package:
