Description:

Our client in Atlantis is seeking an experienced Food Safety Consultant and Facilitator to assist with their clients in the Winelands/Overberg area. This will be a remote position, with occasional travel, including overnight stays, as necessary. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a food environment, with a strong understanding of Food Safety Systems such as FSSC 22000, BRCGS, GLOBALG.A.P, and SIZA. Accreditation in GMP, HACCP, Internal Auditing, and FSMS is required. The ideal candidate should also have a Diploma or Degree in Food-related studies, such as Food Technology, Agriculture, Consumer Science, or Microbiology. Additionally, the candidate should have certification in Food Fraud and Food Defense, and have completed a 3-day BRCGS training, as well as 3-day FSSC 22000 & ISO 9001 training. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential. Fluency in Afrikaans is non-negotiable. Please note that this is a permanent in-house position. REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Diploma or Degree in Food-related studies (Food Technology, Agriculture, Consumer Science, or Microbiology)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food environment
  • Preferably a trained Food Safety Lead Auditor
  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety Systems, including FSSC 22000, BRCGS, GLOBALG.A.P, and SIZA
  • Accredited in GMP, HACCP, Internal Auditing, and FSMS
  • Certification in BRCGS (3-day), FSSC 22000 (3-day), ISO 9001, Food Fraud and Food Defense
  • A.P Assurer qualification
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in Afrikaans (non-negotiable)
  • Occasional travel may be required, including potential overnight stays
  • Please note that this is a permanent in-house position.

DUTIES:
  • Develop detailed tailored project plans in line with project proposals for all implementation project
  • Manage the implementation projects to ensure that the project runs efficiently within the timelines and deliverables as per project proposal
  • Develop, create, update and tailor compliance documents and checklists per project to ensure the documents are of a professional standard and will be practical for the client as well as meet the relevant compliance standard
  • Conduct gap audits, internal audits, hygiene audits and readiness audits of a professional standard and ensure that reports are submitted within 5 working days from conducting the audit
  • Prepare for, manage and facilitate training interventions to ensure that every intervention is of a professional standard, and that delegate feedback is positive
  • Complete learner assessments according to the company’s assessment procedures and process. Ensure that all Portfolios and batch QMS are completed correctly and submitted within required timeframes
  • Attend weekly planning sessions
  • Co-ordinate and plan the training and consulting schedule together with the Marketing and Sales Manager
  • Liaise with the clients in advance to confirm planned consultations
  • Prepare for each consultation with clients to ensure that billable time spent with the clients is spent productively and efficiently
  • Account for billable time spent with clients by providing Client Contact Sheets per visit per client that will cross- reference to the Project Plan
  • Report on any project deviations or concerns in time to remedy potential issues with all relevant parties
  • Assist with the estimation of consultation time required for implementation projects by analyzing client checklists and master document list.
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with any client queries or communications
  • Utilize any free time / admin days effectively by taking the initiative to improve on any auditing & consulting templates or training material
  • Uphold all the company’s QMS Processes, Polices and Procedures and suggest improvements where these are identified

HOURS:
  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 16:30
