KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engineering Design:
Developing new products and solutions from first principles
Value engineering of existing products
Design validation and FEA analysis
Compilation and approval of drawing packs in conjunction with the drawing office
Compilation of Bill of Materials via ERP system
Specification of 3rd party equipment.
Conducting on-site research and information gathering
Working in conjunction with Test Plant technicians to conduct process verification and material sample testing.
Projects:
Managing project-specific engineering deliverables according to project scope and schedule
On-Site Commissioning of equipment in conjunction with product support team
Supporting documentation:
Oversee the compilation of client specific Manuals and Illustrated Parts Catalogues
Compilation of technical reports, memos, and specifications
Engineering Admin and Change Management:
Handling of Non-conformances.
Updating drawings, manuals and supporting documentation according to the Engineering Change Procedure
Requirements:
QUALIFICATION: BEng or BSc Mechanical Engineering
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials
Good computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office)
Good CAD software skills – AutoCAD and Inventor preferred
Experience with Finite Element Analysis
Working knowledge of crushing equipment such as cone crushers, Jaw crushers and ball mills will be advantages.
Experience of being on a mine
Valid Driver’s License and own transport
Valid Passport
Able to pass standard medical assessment for mine access
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position includes travel to sites and will require being away from home for multiple days at a time.
