Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for a CJM Graphic Design Graduate to join the team. We're in need of a person that is willing to start from the bottom in the design industry or someone that would like to accumulate experience in design basics. Learn how to create and develop engaging graphics for a variety of media. This includes training in receiving a brief, defining the requirements, and creating all required elements such as illustrations, logos, layouts, photos, etc. in all types of mediums.Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
- Grade 12 – Matric, and a keen interest to study Graphic Design
- Interest or limited experience in graphic design with a portfolio of creative works.
Advantageous:
- Willingness to learn.
- Experience in design software use.

Design & layout:- To learn about consistent standards and approaches throughout all design aspects.
- Plan, design, and develop creative concepts.
- Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts for print.
- Strive towards an outcome that will enable them to design, illustrate and photograph any element required within a design studio.
- Ensure work is always in line with the given tasks.
- Creatively produce new ideas and concepts for evaluation.
- Ensure all items are prepared for the design team.
- Handle workload and help with production and finishing in the studio where needed.
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements per design project.
- Stay up to date with new technology trends with the graphic design space.
- Innovatively conceptualise a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.
Stakeholder Liaison:
- Work as part of the team and understand relationships between printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account managers, web developers and marketing specialists to ensure high quality work.
- Ensure team members that are provided with the pre-production elements as required for the finalization of different design projects.
- Consider recommendations of team member`s suggestions, on improving design tasks.
- Work in a logical order to give relevant and accurate feedback to team members.
General:
- Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
