A leading international company in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team in the Umhlanga area
As a Financial Accountant, you will oversee financial records, treasury operations, taxation, and fixed asset management. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and effective cash flow management
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cashbook processing and bank reconciliations
- Processing payments and managing bank accounts
- Daily, monthly, and annual cash flow forecasting
- Administration of the Coupa treasury system
- Hedge accounting and foreign payments
- General ledger journal processing and month-end close-off
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting and addressing process breakdowns
- Preparation of VAT reconciliations and tax returns (VAT201, EMP201, Provisional Tax)
- Responding to SARS queries and staying updated on tax legislation
- Maintenance of fixed asset and tax asset registers
- Coordination of capital expenditure and depreciation
- Managing the invoicing clerk and providing backup support
- Assisting with ad hoc projects and requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- B.Com Accounting Degree (essential)
- Completed articles (advantageous)
- 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing sector
- Strong knowledge of financial management, taxation, and treasury operations
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g. Coupa treasury system)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
