We’re seeking a skilled Group Financial Manager to oversee financial operations across a growing portfolio of smart energy storage projects in Southern Africa. Apply IFRS 15 revenue recognition for various solar EPC project contracts
Review income statements and balance sheets monthly, ensuring reports are accurate and complete
Submit monthly and ad hoc group reporting, including data entry into the Onestream consolidation system
Prepare and deliver accurate management reports within set deadlines
Ensure appropriate cost allocation at cost centre and project levels
Assess and enhance financial processes and systems for efficiency
Prepare timely and accurate margin analysis tools and reports
Collaborate with operations teams based on margin analysis insights
Provide decision-supporting financial information to operations and management
Develop accurate cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital needs
Improve and maintain financial forecasting models and tools
Offer strategic financial insights and reconcile all balance sheet items monthly and annually
Review and approve payments and reconciliations (VAT, payroll, suppliers, etc.)
Manage and oversee finance department staff
Ensure adherence to month-end processing, reconciliation procedures, and deadlines
Oversee year-end financial close procedures
Strengthen internal controls through process development and compliance
Prepare audit files and facilitate statutory audits
Manage foreign payments, hedge currency exposures, and handle forex accounting
Oversee company insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage and liaising with brokers
Maintain banking, auditor, and landlord relationships
Manage cash flow, including forecasting and liquidity planning
Calculate and submit all tax-related filings (income, provisional, and deferred tax) to SARS and handle tax audits
Ensure stock take procedures are followed and analyse stock take results
Prepare annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts
Optimize financial systems and procedures for efficiency
Create financial presentations for directors and shareholder meetings
Act as a backup for the Group Financial Manager when needed
Handle any additional finance-related tasks or projects as required
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 4 years post-article experience in the industry
Minimum 4 years in group reporting, including project and staff management experience
Strong analytical mindset with keen attention to detail
Experience in financial management within the construction and/or renewable energy sectors (preferred)
Familiarity with SAP Business One (preferred)
Proficient in Excel (Intermediate level or higher)
Qualification:
Qualified CA(SA)
