Role Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the management of contracts for an international gold mining project. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of contracts between our client and main suppliers and service providers, ensuring compliance with international standards such as FIDIC and NEC3.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement contract management strategies that align with project as well as our companies’ goals and expectations.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and service providers to ensure favorable agreements for our client, with a strong focus on FIDIC and NEC3 contractual frameworks.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts, from initial drafting and negotiation to execution, compliance monitoring, renewal, and termination.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure contract terms are fulfilled and project deliverables are met.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with contracts and procurement.
- Ensure compliance with international laws, industry standards, and corporate policies.
- Handle dispute resolution and contract adjustments in response to scope changes, unforeseen circumstances, or compliance requirements.
- Provide regular reports on contract status, compliance, and risk to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all vendors and service providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in contract management, preferably in the EPCM sector, specifically in EC&I projects.
- Strong understanding of international contract law, procurement, project management, and specific expertise in FIDIC and NEC3 contracts.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM).
- Experience in the mining industry, particularly in gold mining projects.
- Multi-lingual capabilities are an advantage.
