Job Summary The Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (ENA) – Occupational Health will provide essential support to the Occupational Health team by assisting with basic medical procedures, employee health screenings, and maintaining workplace health and safety standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in occupational health and a passion for promoting employee wellness. Key Responsibilities Support the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (OHNP) and Enrolled Nurse (EN) in carrying out medical surveillance programs and health screenings. Assist with pre-employment, periodic, and exit medical examinations under supervision. Conduct basic health checks, including blood pressure monitoring, vision screening, urine tests, and temperature checks. Provide first aid and emergency assistance for minor workplace injuries and illnesses. Assist in administering vaccinations and workplace immunization programs. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation in line with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act requirements. Educate employees on basic health and hygiene practices in the workplace. Ensure the occupational health clinic is well-stocked and organized, assisting with ordering and managing medical supplies. Minimum Requirements Registered Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (ENA) with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). At least 1-2 years of nursing experience (experience in occupational health is an advantage). Basic knowledge of occupational health principles and workplace safety requirements. Certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) is an advantage. Strong administrative skills and attention to detail for record-keeping and compliance. Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels. Ability to work in a structured team environment and follow instructions effectively.
