Job Description: Portfolio Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and results-driven Portfolio Manager to join a leading underwriting company. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will focus on cultivating and maintaining strong, trusting relationships with brokers, while identifying new business opportunities to drive long-term profitability.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with brokers and underwriters, contributing to product design and ensuring the company remains competitive in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with existing brokers, while actively seeking out new business opportunities. Meet and exceed set targets for new business generation. Provide expert advice and support to brokers on products and services. Contribute to the development and design of new products within the companys portfolio. Conduct competitive analysis, ensuring the companys product offerings stand out in the market.Skills & Competencies:
Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Expertise in short-term insurance products and systems. Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities. A customer-centric approach with a focus on building and nurturing relationships.Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience as a broker consultant or portfolio manager. At least 10 years of experience in the short-term insurance industry. NQF Level 4 qualification in Short-Term Commercial Lines (60 credits). Completed RE 5 Examination (Level 1).
