Description:
Hire Resolve’s client, a well-established construction company, is urgently seeking an experienced Low-Bed Driver to join their team in Wellington, WC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating the low-bed truck to transport heavy equipment and machinery to construction sites, ensuring secure cargo and performing thorough vehicle inspections. Additional duties include planning travel routes, assisting with loading and unloading, performing routine truck maintenance, and complying with traffic laws to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬
- Operate and drive lowbed truck to transport heavy equipment and machinery to various construction sites.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly before transport and inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating condition.
- Plan travel routes and schedule for timely delivery of cargo.
- Assist in loading and unloading of cargo and make sure it is done safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the truck as needed
- Comply with all traffic laws and regulations and maintain a clean driving record
𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 :
- A valid Code 14 driver's license with no endorsements.
- A valid PDP license
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lowbed driving in a civil construction field.
- Be able to communicate fluently in Afrikaans and English.
- Must reside within a radius of 70 kms from Wellington area.
- Must be willing to work away from home from time to time.
- Ability to load and unload heavy equipment onto the lowbed
- Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Physical stamina to sit and drive for long hours
- Attention to detail to ensure safe transportation of equipment
- Ability to maintain the lowbed in good condition, including regular cleaning and maintenance
