Description:
Our client is looking for a Maintenance Technician (Electrician) to join their team in Cape Town, WC. The ideal candidate will have experience in machinery installation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance, with a strong technical background in a manufacturing environment. Plastics industry experience will be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Install machinery and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform testing.
- Conduct TIG, MIG, ARC, and oxy welding, with competent use of hand and power tools.
- Maintain and repair FMCG packaging machines, including Ulma, Omori, and Terioka.
- Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, mechanics, and computer systems.
- Ensure a high level of work ethic and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with ISO 22000 standards.
- Be available for standby duties, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance over weekends.
Requirements:
- Strong technical background with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
- Ability to give clear instructions when coordinating repairs.
- Experience in the FMCG industry is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills further.
- Experience with PLCs, HMI settings, speed drives, and gensets.
- General production and factory maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to complete relevant paperwork efficiently.
- Salary: negotiable.
