Somerset West - A ready meal manufacturer who is committed to delivering high-quality, delicious, and nutritious meals to their customers is seeking to employ a Production Cook or Production Chef to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, be comfortable using industrial kitchen equipment and understand food safety compliance.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook large-scale batches according to set recipes
- Operate commercial cooking equipment (tilt skillets, stock pots, industrial mixers)
- Ensure consistent quality and portion control
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with meal packaging, portioning and production workflow
- Proven experience in batch cooking, catering, or food production
- Ability to follow standardised recipes and meet high consistency standards
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen operations and food safety protocols
- Physical capability to lift 25kg and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- HACCP certification or food manufacturing experience (Preferred but not a requirement)
- Structured, stable hours (Typically 8am-5pm) / No late or weekend shifts
- On the job training
- Starting date: As soon as possible
