Our client within the FMCG space is looking to hire a National Account Manager , based in Durban
The National Account Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key national accounts to drive sales growth and meet business objectives. This role requires strategic planning, effective account management, and close collaboration with internal teams to enhance customer satisfaction and optimize revenue opportunities. Additionally, the National Account Manager will analyze market trends, develop targeted sales strategies, and manage resources to support overall sales performance
The position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Account Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Sales Strategy : Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives
- Market Analysis : Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive activities
- Forecasting : Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts for national accounts.
- Negotiation : Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key accounts to maximize profitability
- Reporting : Prepare and present regular reports on account performance, market trends, and sales metrics to senior management
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, finance, and product development, to support overall business objectives
- Customer Relationship Management : Ensure the effective use of CRM systems to track customer interactions, sales activities, and performance metrics
- Problem-Solving : Address and resolve any issues or challenges faced by national accounts
- Training and Development : Provide training and support to account teams to enhance their skills and knowledge
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Relevant Degree
- Proven track record in the Sales / Account Management space of which 10 years at Sales Management / Senior Account Management level
- FMCG sector experience essential
- Meat Industry exposure a definite advantage
