CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
The Dietetics Department focuses on building and maintaining excellent academic standards in theoretical and practical application. The core purpose for the Laboratory Technician: Dietetics is to be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the food laboratory and stores, assist with the planning and execution of food practical work and orders for food practical work in all modules of the division, including functions.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Keep the food laboratory and stores clean, neat and stocked according to guidelines given Ensure that all necessary ingredients and equipment are planned, ordered, acquired, received and available for practical work and functions. Assist Lecturers during practical work and functions. Supervise students at practical sites off campus. Take responsibility for security, health and safety in the department. Conduct other administrative duties as necessary. Offer practical classes as needed and offer theoretical lectures as needed.CORE COMPETENCIES

Qualifications
A BSc degree in Dietetics (four years)

Current registered as a Dietitian with the HPCSA
