CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
The purpose of the post is to build and maintain relationships on the community healthcare platform including with households, community mentors and clinic staff. Working in a team, to establish and co- ordinate clinical and community placements of medical students. To work with administrative support structures to ensure transport and the logistics of community and clinical placements is achieved. To be involved with learning and teaching of medical students in the relevant modules on the community platform.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
To maintain the community healthcare platforms affiliated to the medical school. To manage and coordinate the Clinical and Community placements of medical students in the modules Theory and Practice of Medicine and Clinical Skills and Reasoning. To assist with learning and teaching of students in Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Public Health, Communication skills and Clinical skills in the Medical School Program, inclusive of campus as well as community settings. To assess students, including formative and summative assessment. To provide timeous academic and related support to students. To be involved in research activities of the Medical School of the Faculty of Health Sciences.CORE COMPETENCIES
