Hire Resolve’s client, a licensed financial services provider, is seeking an experienced Collections Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations , you will play a key role in managing all default payments across various products and payment methods.Requirements
- Proven leadership skills.
- Education: Matric certificate required.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience as an operational Collections Manager.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in the collections industry with a track record of meeting/exceeding targets.
- Experience as both Collections Agent and Supervisor is ideal.
- Extensive knowledge of collection techniques.
- Proven ability to manage collection operations and allocate resources effectively.
- Strong objection-handling and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in appraising, training, coaching, and developing staff in collections.
- Ability to implement positive operational changes.
- Competence in analyzing reports and recommending actions to improve collection efficiency and performance.
Responsibilities
- Achieve company delinquency targets and minimize bad debt exposure.
- Ensure operational performance excellence in the collections department.
- Maintain quality assessment standards and compliance with policies/procedures.
- Implement strategies to reduce arrears and maximize collections on at-risk accounts.
- Foster a developmental and growth-oriented team environment.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the collections call center (early-stage outbound/inbound processes).
- Ensure adherence to established collections processes by all staff.
- Develop the collection team through training, support, and performance maximization.
- Monitor absence, tardiness, and attrition; take proactive action to meet department targets.
- Analyze portfolio and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with other managers to enhance efficiency and minimize bad debt exposure.
- Assess existing collection processes; recommend improvements to the Head of Operations.
- Stay updated on technology and legislation changes for collection optimization.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives to maintain a motivated and high-performing team.
- Oversee recruitment and selection of qualified staff aligned with company values.
- Drive technical and soft skills training for the Collections Team.
- Ensure performance management is aligned with company policies and values.
- Communicate concerns promptly to Dialler support teams.
- Troubleshoot and propose new ideas for driving collections performance.
