We are seeking a Site Engineer/Construction Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, ensuring technical accuracy and managing site operations. This position offers structured learning, with exposure to project supervision, surveying, quality assurance and quantity surveying.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and timelines.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Manage project resources, including labour, materials and equipment.
- Monitor site financials, ensuring cost control and budget adherence.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and interpret construction drawings and resolving any discrepancies.
- Oversee subcontractors, ensuring quality and productivity.
- Mentor junior staff, fostering skill development and professional growth.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, project managers and suppliers.
- Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 0-10 years of experience in construction project management (concrete-focused would be preferred).
- Professional Registration: Candidate Engineer (ECSA) or SACPCMP (preferred).
- Key Skills: Project supervision, surveying, cost control, leadership and problem-solving.
