Description:

ROLE PURPOSE

The Specialist IT Cybersecurity is responsible for ensuring the security of the organisation's IT infrastructure. This role encompasses various areas including Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, IDS, IAM, PAM, DLP, and Endpoint Protection. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cybersecurity and a deep understanding of the latest security threats and technologies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES- JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Vulnerability Management:

  • Oversee regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
  • Identify, analyse, and prioritise vulnerabilities in the IT environment.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans to address identified vulnerabilities.

Patch Management:

  • Manage security patches across all IT systems.
  • Ensure timely application of patches to mitigate security risks.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all systems and their patch status.

Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS):

  • Monitor and analyse network traffic for signs of intrusion.
  • Implement and manage IDS solutions to detect and respond to security incidents.
  • Investigate and respond to security breaches and incidents.

Identity and Access Management (IAM):

  • Develop and enforce IAM policies and procedures.
  • Manage user access controls and permissions.
  • Ensure compliance with IAM best practices and regulatory requirements.

Privileged Access Management (PAM):

  • Implement and manage PAM solutions to secure privileged accounts.
  • Monitor and audit privileged access activities.
  • Ensure the least privilege principle is applied across the organisation.

Data Loss Prevention (DLP):

  • Develop and implement DLP strategies to protect sensitive data.
  • Monitor data transfers and prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure DLP policies are effective.

Endpoint Protection:

  • Deploy and manage endpoint protection solutions.
  • Monitor and respond to endpoint security alerts.
  • Ensure all endpoints are compliant with security policies and standards

Skills
  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, and antivirus software.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Qualifications & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. TBC
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT cybersecurity.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
