Job Opportunity: Credit Underwriting Manager My client is looking for a Credit Underwriting Manager to join a leading global natural resources company. This role forms a key part of the company’s global Credit Risk team. The role involves credit risk monitoring, counterparty review analysis, and managing a team of underwriting analysts. The ideal candidate will work closely with global stakeholders to manage the credit risk portfolio and ensure the team adheres to performance goals.As a senior member of the team, you will oversee day-to-day operations, manage the limit & rating setting process, and provide guidance to the team. This position requires expertise in managing complex credit structures, asset valuations, and addressing atypical credit risks. Key Responsibilities:- Manage and mentor a team of credit underwriting analysts
- Support the Global Head of Underwriting with credit risk assessments and reporting
- Perform in-depth financial analysis, limit & rating setting, and re-assessments for a global oil marketing portfolio
- Provide guidance on credit risk appetite and asset valuations
- Monitor sector trends and produce macro-economic analysis
- Report on credit risk performance and KPIs to senior management
- Build and maintain effective relationships with senior management and the commercial credit team
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Economics, or Business Studies
- Post-graduate qualifications, Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or similar certifications are advantageous
- At least 8 years of experience in Credit Risk or Credit Underwriting, ideally in mining, commodity trading, banking, or consultancy
- Strong financial analysis and reporting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access); coding skills in VBA, PowerBI, or Python are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
