Our client, a leading solar solutions supplier, is seeking a Commercial Manager to optimize stockholding, strengthen distributor relationships, and drive commercial efficiency across South Africa.
This role focuses on pricing strategies, supply chain processes, and distributor engagement rather than direct sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical industry background, extensive experience in distributor management and stockholding, and the ability to work strategically with supply chain partners to ensure effective product availability and sales performance.
Minimum Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
Proven experience in a commercial, supply chain, or distributor management role
Strong commercial acumen, focusing on pricing strategies, stockholding, and distribution
Hands-on experience with supply chain and stock flow management
Technical industry experience required – preferably in solar, renewable energy, electrical, industrial manufacturing, or engineering industries
Ability to engage and manage distributor relationships, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient product distribution
Analytical mindset – skilled in market trend analysis, pricing models, and inventory control
Willingness to travel within South Africa to meet and engage with distributors
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize commercial operations, ensuring efficient pricing models, stockholding, and distribution strategies.
Engage with existing distributors, strengthening relationships and improving supply chain efficiency.
Oversee local stockholding to ensure timely product availability and support distributors with stock management solutions.
Work closely with distribution partners to refine pricing strategies and routes to market.
Monitor stock flow to distributors, ensuring efficient stock-in and stock-out processes.
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure commercial alignment (but will not directly handle marketing campaigns).
Provide data-driven insights on stock performance, sales trends, and distributor needs.
Travel across South Africa to meet with distributors, conduct site visits, and oversee commercial operations.
