Description:

Duties:

  • To manage and control the operational aspects of the Guest House Front Desk including:
    • Taking bookings and making reservations
    • Welcoming and receiving guests
    • Invoicing
  • Oversee and manage:
    • Housekeeping staff
    • Kitchen staff
  • Stock management:
    • Ordering
    • Receiving
    • Issuing of stock (laundry & kitchen)
    • Stock counts
  • Assist in the kitchen as and when required (Breakfast)
  • Providing quotations
  • Monitoring provisional bookings
  • Invoicing
  • Taking payments
  • Control Petty cash / Front Office float and make sure that all dockets are correctly authorised
  • Make sure that all telephone, copies and email revenues are generated

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a guest house or hotel
  • Must have a strong personality and be diplomatic and reasonably minded
  • Must be fully computer literate with experience in Nightsbridge or similar preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic cooking skills:
  • The candidate must be able to assist with breakfast preparation if and when required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bilingual (English & Afrikaans)
  • Good telephone manner
  • Must be able to work shifts within hospitality hours
  • Contactable references
