Description:
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in yeast and confectionery baking, staff management, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales growth, gross margin, and operational efficiency.
- This role requires a proactive individual who is passionate about bakery operations, customer engagement, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the bakery department.
- Ensure compliance with Pick n Pay food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Drive sales growth and optimize gross margin through effective cost control and pricing strategies.
- Led, trained, and motivated the bakery team, ensuring efficient staff scheduling and performance management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing bakery section.
- Develop and introduce new product lines, seeking innovative ways to enhance the bakerys offerings.
- Monitor stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure product availability at all times.
- Engage with customers, gather feedback, and implement suggestions to improve the bakery's offerings.
- Utilize SAP systems for stock management, pricing, and reporting.
Probation and Performance Evaluation:
3-month probationary period, during which performance will be measured against agreed KPIs, including:
- Sales growth and revenue targets.
- Gross margin improvement and cost control.
- Operational efficiency and stock management.
- Customer satisfaction and engagement.
- Compliance with Pick n Pay food safety standards.
Successful candidates may be offered a permanent position based on their performance during the probation period.
Work Schedule and Compensation:
- 45-hour work week on a roster, including weekends and public holidays as required.
