My client, an established wheat manufacturer based in the Northern Suburbs is seeking to employ an Quality Controller with a relevant tertiary qualification in Food Science and Technology, Quality Management, Consumer Science or related qualificationThe successful candidate will report to the Assistant Quality Manager and oversee three Quality Assistants with minimum 2 years experience in FMCG production or quality departments REQUIREMENTS- Matric and tertiary qualification in related field

Laboratory Management
- Equipment
- Handling ad-hoc duties as agreed with management
- Conduct regular and thorough inspections of production processes, products, and raw materials to ensure strict adherence to established quality standards. This includes evaluating equipment functionality, monitoring production workflows, and verifying finished products meet all specifications before distribution
- Investigate any quality issues that arise during production or post-distribution. This involves identifying the root cause of deviations from quality standards, documenting these incidents comprehensively, and implementing approved corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
- Actively respond to customer inquiries concerning product quality and provide detailed explanations regarding COA. Address any customer complaints with a focus on resolution, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining trust in the product offerings
- Adhere to and consistently maintain all GMPs related to the company’s Food Safety Management System (FSMS)
- Managing subordinates in such a way that it is a win-win situation for both the employer and employee
- Good communication with subordinates: keep them up to date with the company matters and work detail, thorough feedback to management
- Good distribution and control of tasks to subordinates: ensure that tasks are complete properly
- Good planning: take initiate, create systems
- Training of staff in order for them to complete tasks in a good order: cross training
