Description:

We are seeking a General Manager for our Steel Division. This person will direct and coordinate activities concerning steel production. Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, as well as cost controls. Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.

Qualifications require:

  • Grade 12.

    Experience Required:

    • 3-5 years General Management experience.
    • 3-5 Steel Manufacturing experience.

      Prime Responsibilities:

      • Ensure the preventative maintenance and repairs scheduled of assets in production departments are adhered to.
      • General Management of three warehouses in three different provinces including: staff management, product management and premises management.
      • Weekly management of stock sheets, across the three warehouses.
      • All purchase orders for the business from different/varied suppliers.
      • Quoting to clients.
      • Predicting the steel required for upcoming projects and the timelines around that when placing orders.
      • All steel extractions, per store to know what is required to be delivered to that store (Excel Spread sheets).
      • Management of clients stock and overseeing the delivery thereof when asked to do so.
      • Monthly Sales Journals (correct allocations).
      • Yearly Sales Budgets.
      • Overall management of the powder coating/re-powder coated steel to enable the client to get the best discount possible.
      • Nurturing relationships with clients.
      • New Business.
      • Assisting the transport supervisor with regards to overseeing all transport needs for the five companies that supply to our client.
      • Updating of Prices from suppliers.
      • Site visits.
      • Travelling between provinces.
      • Quarterly stocktake.
